Students from the 6th grade of Zuberec Primary School were accompanied by Zuzana Kertysová from the Protected Landscape Area – Horná Orava.
Pupils learned about the fauna typical for peatlands, but also about the negative impacts of trees and shrubs that overgrow the peatland.
Klin peatland is a very rare and endangered area with the presence of several protected species of plants and animals. It is located between the village of Klin and the town of Námestovo. It has been protected by law since 1967 and since 1979 it has been part of the Protected Landscape Area Horná Orava, it has an area of 15.3 ha.
