Together with students from the Institute of High Mountain Biology of the University of Žilina we measured and monitored the groundwater level on the peat bog in Tisovnica in October 2023.
We explained to the students the methodology of measuring the water level and the depth of the peat. We formed three separate teams to carry out the measurements.
They have learned about soil carbon sequestration, measures for peatland revitalization and the importance of peatlands in mitigating of the climate change impacts.
